Glint finds Bluetooth earbuds and headphones — JBL, Sony, Samsung Galaxy Buds, Bose, Anker/Soundcore, Jabra, Jaybird, older Beats, and other Bluetooth devices. It works by sensing the Bluetooth signal, so your device must be powered on, out of its case, and within Bluetooth range. If the battery is dead or the earbuds are far away, no app can sense them.
Glint is the honest Bluetooth finder for the earbuds and headphones Apple's Find My ignores. It listens for your device's Bluetooth signal and guides you closer with a warmer/colder reading — never a fake distance in meters, never a map pin it can't actually deliver. Everything happens on your phone.
Because it can't — and we won't pretend otherwise. Bluetooth only tells you how strong a signal is, not exactly how far away it is. Walls, pockets, and bodies all change the reading. So Glint gives you an honest warmer / colder direction that actually gets you there, instead of a confident-looking number that's wrong.
The most common reasons:
1. The device is off or dead. Bluetooth earbuds only broadcast when they have battery and are out of the case. If the battery is flat, nothing can sense them.
2. Out of range. Bluetooth reaches only a limited distance. Get closer to the area where you last had them and sweep the room slowly.
3. Bluetooth permission. Glint needs iOS Bluetooth access to sense your device. Check iOS Settings → Glint → Bluetooth is on.
4. Some earbuds go quiet in the case. Many earbuds stop broadcasting once they're seated in a closed case. If you think they're in the case, that may be why.
For AirPods and AirTags, use Find My — Apple covers those natively. Glint is for everything else: the JBL, Sony, Samsung, Bose, Anker, and Jabra earbuds Find My doesn't track. Glint senses their generic Bluetooth signal, which is the only way to find them.

With Glint Plus, Glint can remember roughly where a saved device was last detected, so you know which room or which part of town to start in. This is off unless you turn it on, uses only a coarse location, and is stored on your device only — never uploaded.

Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple. To cancel, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions on your iPhone, choose Glint, and tap Cancel. If you cancel during the free trial you won't be charged. Refunds are also handled by Apple — visit reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account to request one.
Open the Glint Plus screen and tap Restore. As long as you're signed in with the same Apple Account, your Glint Plus access will come back. Lifetime purchases and active subscriptions both restore.
Bluetooth access is required so Glint can sense the signal from your lost earbuds. It is used only for that — not to connect to or report your other devices. You can revoke it any time in iOS Settings → Glint → Bluetooth. Location is optional and only used if you enable last-seen.
